Who we are
Milo Tennis is operated by Amsal Holdings LLC. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at zayndhalla@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account and profile. When you create an account we store your first and last name, a short bio, a profile photo, your gender, your NTRP skill rating, how competitive you like your matches, and who you want to be matched with. You choose what to fill in; none of it is required beyond what onboarding asks for.
- Location. We store the precise coordinates of the location you set as your home base ("baseline"), along with the place name and how far you're willing to travel. We use your precise coordinates to find and rank nearby players, but we never send your exact coordinates to another player's device. When we show another player how far away you are, we first snap your location to a coarse grid (about 1 km) and round the result to the nearest whole kilometer (minimum "1 km"), so the number they see cannot be used to work out exactly where you are. Filtering by travel distance still uses your precise location internally; only the number shown to other players is rounded.
- Availability. The days and times you mark as free are stored so we can suggest shared openings with other players. Your own weekly grid is private to you — other players only ever see whether you're both free at the same time, never your full schedule.
- Messages.Once you and another player have a match, anything you send in that match's chat is stored so both of you can see the conversation. Only the two people in a match can read its messages.
- Match results. Each player can report their own score for a match. Your report is visible only to you; we don't show your opponent's version of the score to you or vice versa.
- Push notification tokens. If you allow notifications, we store a device token used only to deliver pushes to your phone (new invites, messages, reminders). Tokens are removed if you turn off notifications, sign out, or if Apple/Google's push service tells us the device no longer has the app installed.
- Communication preferences. We store whether you've opted in or out of push notifications, marketing email, and SMS. Push preference is actively enforced today — we do not send you a push if you've turned it off. Marketing email and SMS preferences are stored but, as of this writing, Milo Tennis does not send marketing email or SMS to anyone.
- Calendar. If you tap "Add to calendar" for a confirmed match, we ask for permission to writea single event to your device calendar. We never request permission to read your existing calendar, and on recent iOS versions the system's own calendar sheet handles this without giving the app any calendar access at all.
- Reports and blocks. If you block another player, we record who you blocked and, optionally, why — only you can see your own block list. If you report another player, we record the reason, any details you add, and which match (if any) it relates to. A report you file stays on record even if you later delete your own account, because it's evidence about the person you reported, not about you; your identity on that report is removed at that point. If the reported person deletes their account, the report about them is removed along with it.
Who can see your information
Your name, bio, photo, gender, skill rating, and competitiveness are visible to other signed-in Milo Tennis users so they can decide whether to invite you to play. Your exact location is never shown to anyone; only the rounded distance described above is. Match chat is visible only to the two players in that match. Reports you file are visible only to you and to our moderation team; the person you report is never shown that they were reported.
Third parties that help us run the app
We use a small number of service providers to operate Milo Tennis. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
- Supabase— hosts our database, handles sign-in, and stores profile photos. Almost everything described in this policy is stored in Supabase's infrastructure.
- Expo — delivers push notifications to your device and delivers app updates.
- Google— powers "Sign in with Google," and (if you use the location search when picking a match location) runs the text search for tennis courts and venues through the Google Places API. Your search text and an approximate location are sent to Google to run that search; our server key is never exposed to your device.
- Apple— powers "Sign in with Apple," if you choose that option.
How long we keep your information
If you delete your account, we mark it for deletion immediately: your profile is hidden from other players right away, you're signed out, and no one can start a new match with you. You then have 30 daysto change your mind before the deletion becomes permanent. To ask us to cancel a deletion in progress, contact us at the email above — there is not currently an in-app "undo" button, so a support request is the only way to reverse it during the 30 days. After 30 days, your account and the data tied to it are permanently erased.
You can also pause your account instead of deleting it — this hides you from other players without erasing anything, and you can turn matching back on at any time from Settings.
Your choices
- Block a player from their profile or a conversation to stop seeing each other and end any pending invite or upcoming match between you.
- Report a player if something feels wrong — we review every report.
- Pause or delete your account from Settings at any time.
- Turn off push notifications from Settings; we will stop sending them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
